Explain Myocurdial Ischemia and Infarction

Myocardial ischemia (insufficient blood flow) or myocardial infarction (death of heart cells) reduces myocardial contractile force and thereby reduces the cardiac output. Further, there is also a reflex fall in systemic blood pressure by liberation of certain metabolites which stimulate the ventricular unmyelinated afferent fibers.
