Explain the Chemical Weathering Processes

The chemical process of decomposition starts with the physical disintegration of rocks and minerals. In chemical weathering processes, the minerals in  rocks are chemically altered partially or wholly to give secondary minerals. Increasing precipitation (rain) speeds up the chemical weathering  of minerals in rocks, as seen on tombs and monuments made of limestone and marble.
