Question
What is the reason that vibrators not used in concrete compaction in piling works?
Answer Concrete for piles must be a high-slump self-compacting mix that is capable of flowing between reinforcement cages with simplicity. As concrete is designed to be self-compacting, vibrators are not used for given that additional compaction. Furthermore, concrete in piles is compacted by power derived from free falling. Though, if vibrators are used, vibrated concrete can be compacted to sides of concrete casings and hinders lifting up of casings.
