Answer Division membrane between concrete pavement slab and sub-base has next functions-
(i) It supports in reducing frictional forces between concrete slab and sub-base and helps to society of concrete slab with admiration to sub-base remaining to changes in temperature and moisture.
(ii) It prevents loss of cement and water in not fully formed concrete which significantly affects strength and durability of hardened concrete.
(iii)It avoids mixing up of sub-base materials and freshly placed concrete.
