Computing the class of an address, Computer Networking

Whenever it manage a packet, IP software requires to separate the receiver address into a suffix and prefix. Classful internet addresses are self-identifying because the class of the IP address can be calculated from the address itself. The table shows in the given figure below how the class of address can be calculated.
