Calculate the area and circumference of a circle:

Calculate the area and circumference of a circle with a 3" radius.

Solution:

A =      πr2                               C = 2πr

A =      π(3)(3)                         C = (2)π(3)

A =      π(9)                              C = π(6)

A = 28.3 square inches            C = 18.9 inches
