Has anyone had the excelsior bio212 discussion assignment titled "waste not, want not"?  It involves making up a fictional operon, the regulatory proteins, cellular process, and molecules being sensed.  

I also need to provide detail about the repressor/activator and inducer/inhibitor proteins  and details about conditions that trigger expression of the genes.  

Im lost reading through Prescott's microbio book, can anyone break down the info that is needed or maybe direct me to some specifics in the book I can go back to?
