Polymers are compound of very high molecular masses formed by the combination of a large number of simple molecules.
The simple molecules which combine to give polymers are known as monomers. The method by which the simple molecule (i.e. monomers) is converted into polymers is called polymerisation.

- All polymers are macromolecule but all macromolecules are not polymers because polymer consist repeating unit of monomer e.g., chlorophyll is a macro atom but not a polymer.
