Relationship between the Components of Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems or CIMS
As discussed previously, CIMs consists of many core components that similarly contribute to the overall performance of computer integrated manufacture system. Apart from two basic tools of CIM name is: Computer Aided Manufacturing or CAM and Computer Aided Design or CAD, Computer Integrated Manufacturing or CIM consists also of business processes such are accounted for the financial and economical aspects of the systems. In Computer Integrated Manufacturing or CIM, Computer Aided Design or CAD is mainly occupied in initial implementation phase of the manufacturing stage; CAM or Computer Aided Manufacturing has a direct association with the manufacturing stage such comprises both control and planning steps. Following diagram delineates the various computer integrated manufacturing components and its connected tasks.
