The main objective of controlling is to bring the actual operational performance of enterprise onto the accurate track according to standards of control.

Controlling infuses confidence within the operational life of the enterprises. This enhances managerial decision-making. This helps in attaining maximum production at minimum cost. This is a moral check on workers. This judges managerial competence. This aids decentralization and delegation of authority.
