What is the function of the left ventricle? Where does the blood go after leaving the left ventricle?

The function of the left ventricle is to get blood from the left atrium and to pump the blood under high force to the systemic circulation. After leaving the left ventricle the blood enters the aorta, the largest artery of the body.
