What is the function of an IP packet screening Router? Explain with the help of a diagram.

Function of an IP Packet Screening Router:

A screening router is the most fundamental type of firewall and uses only the packet filtering ability to control and monitor network traffic which passes by the border.

Screening routers onto a server along with packet filtering can block traffic among networks or, for illustration, traffic to or from exact hosts on an IP port level. Generally direct communication is permitted between multiple hosts onto the private network and the Internet. The demonstrated diagram below is a basic case of how a screening router works.
