They are exactly analogous to water pressure and water flow by a hose. That's why flowing electrons is known as a current, just like a water current.
Voltage is the electromotive force (the force to move electricity) that needs to push electrons by a wire the way that water pressure (which we could call the hydromotive force by analogy) is the force that needs to push water molecules by a hose.
