What is output impedance, Electrical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Q. What is Output Impedance?

Output Impedance : The output impedance of an amplifier is a measure of the impedance or resistance. It has nothing to do with the actual loading that may be placed at the output. For example, an amplifier has an output impedance of 10 Ohms. This is verified by placing a load of 10 Ohms across the output, and the voltage can be seen to decrease by 1/2. However, unless this amplifier is capable of substantial output current, we might have to make this measurement at a very low output voltage indeed, or the amplifier will be unable to drive the load.
