Insect killing jar
Secure a wide-mouth glass jar with a screw top or single which closes very tightly. Place a wad of cotton in the bottom and cover it with a round piece of cardboard or blotting paper which has various holes punched by it. When the jar is used saturate the cotton with carbon tetra-chloride (Carbona) or some available insecticide having DDT. Place the piece of cardboard over the cotton and then put the insect in the jar . Close the jar tightly and leave unless the insect has been killed. If moths or butterflies are being prepared be definite that the jar opening is large sufficient to stop the tearing of the wings
