Extraoral Examination

It includes examining the following basic structures which are related to oral cavity.

TMJ: Rule out any tenderness, crepitus, clicking or snapping

Face: any facial abnormality e.g. Hemiatrophy and hemi hypertrophy should be noted.

Lymph Nodes: Palpate for the submandibular, submental andcervical group of lymphnodes to ensure that they are non palpable and non tender
