What is Dry manure

Dry manure though contains 80 percent carbon, yet it is considered primarily as a nitrogen fertilizer and, to a lesser extent, one of potassium. Losses of nutrients from manure are serious. For example, if fermented manure is left to dry on the soil surface after being spread and before ploughing under, as much as  25 percent of the nitrogen may be lost by volatili sation in one day and as much as 50 percent in four days. For most efficient use manure should be ploughed under the same day it is spread.
