What is Bit-Mapped or Raster Graphics?

Similar as object-oriented graphics, refers to software and hardware which use geometrical formulas to represent images. The other techniques for representing graphical images are through bit maps, in that the image is composed of a pattern of dots. This is sometimes known as raster graphics. Programs that enable you to form and manipulate vector graphics are known as draw programs, whereas programs in which manipulated bit-mapped images are known as paint programs.
