Q. What do you mean by Time consistent Busy Hour?

(i) Busy Hour

(ii) Peak Busy Hour

(iv) Time consistent Busy Hour

(v) Traffic intensity

Ans:

(i)  Busy Hour:Continuous 1-hour period lying wholly in time interval concerned for which traffic volume or number of calls attempts is greatest.

(ii) Peak Busy Hour: Busy hour each day; it usually varies from day to day or even a number of days.

(iii) Time consistent Busy Hour:1-hour period starting at the same time each day for that average traffic volume or number of call attempts is greatest over the days under consideration.

(iv)Traffic intensity:Traffic on the network may then be measured in terms of occupancy of the servers in the network. Such a measure is known as traffic intensity. It is defined as:

A0 = Period for which a server is occupied / Total period of observation
