Q. What are the major purposes of the organic molecules for living beings?
Ans.
Organic molecules, like, lipids, carbohydrates and proteins perform several functions for living organisms. Noteworthy functions are the structural function (as part of the material that constitutes, delimits and maintains membranes, cell organelles, organs, etc.), the energetic function (chemical reactions of the energetic metabolism), the informative function and control (genetic code control, inter and endocrine integration, intracellular signaling) and the enzymatic function of proteins (facilitation of chemical reactions).
