(a) What are the two main advantages of sound?

(b) UTMDigitlab ltd, specialized in digitizing sound, converts an audio stream of the latest album of Britney Spears into digital format (44.1 KHz 16-bit and stereo). The recording of the digital representation of the audio stream occupies 172 MB. What is the duration of this recording in minutes?

(c) What are the 3 acoustic properties of sound? Give a brief explanation on each of these properties.

(d) When digitizing sound the desired recording attributes are sample rate, bit resolutions and channels. Briefly explain these attributes.

(e) Most of the time sound is represented graphically as a wave (a sine wave). Explain what is meant by :

(i) the amplitude of the sound
(ii) the frequency of the sound.
