What are the differences between marketing and selling?

Marketing and Selling:

The marketing concept is a management orientation which holds that the key chore of the organization is to find out the wants, requirements and values of a target market and to accept the organization to deliver the needed satisfaction more efficiently and effectively than its competitors.

The selling Concept is a management orientation that supposes that consumers will generally not buy adequate of the Company’s products unless they are approached along with a substantial selling and promotional attempt.

Selling focuses upon the requirements of the seller, while marketing focuses onto the needs of the buyers. It is preoccupied along with the seller’s require to convert his goods in cash, while marketing lays emphasis onto satisfying the requirements of the customers through the product he wants. Marketing tries to identify and understand the customer, and also the product or service which fits him and sells itself. In fact Marketing is another name for selling along with the inference that this is a long-haired process. Marketing is a more costly way of selling.
