Assignment Help:

What are the Alluvial sediments

Alluvial sediments are characterized by stratification or layering and fine grained soil layers have higher compressibility as compared to coarse grained soils. These require combined or raft foundations to avoid differential settlements. There are possibilities of erratic deposits over large areas due to buried channels and these areas require careful consideration.
