Q. What are Interconnecting pipe racks?
Interconnecting pipe racks carry the main process inlet, export and transfer lines and utility distribution lines to and from process and utility units. They should not run through process or utility units, thus avoiding the hazard of live lines within unit shutdowns. Unit racks connect to the interconnecting rack taking lines into the respective units via a battery limit station that usually will have a set of isolation valves.
