Vector Graphics: These are images which may be entirely described by using mathematical definitions. The image below demonstrates the principle. To the left you notice the image itself and to the right you notice the actual lines which make up the drawing.

Each particular line is made up a large number of small lines that be linked a large number of or only a few control points which are connected by using Bezier curves. This is this latter method which generates the best results and which is used through most drawing programs.

This drawing displays the two principles. To the left a circle is formed through connecting several points by using straight lines. To the right, you notice similar circle that is now drawn by using 4 points i.e. nodes only.
