Uses of Urea or Carbamide - Carboxylic Acids

(a) Urea is used mainly as a nitrogen fertilizer. It has 46.4% nitrogen.

(b) Urea is used in the manufacture of formaldehyde-urea plastic and semicarbazide.

(c) Urea is used as animal  feed.

(d) Urea is used for making barbiturates and other drugs.

(e) Urea is used as a stabilizer for nitrocellulose explosives.
