The common uses of the non-English western language encyclopaedias can be summarised as under:

  1. The collection of foreign language encyclopaedia in university, college and school libraries is useful for foreign language teachers and learners. 
  2. They are useful for those who do not have proficiency in English language. 
  3. They can be referred by the foreign language learners with the help of bilingual dictionary to know more about the country and to get proficiency in the language. 
  4. They assist the learners to assume the life style of the people of a particular country.
