But multiculturalism as we know it, indulges in stereotype, depends on it for a dash of colour and the flash of dance" (Bissoondath 76). What does Bissoondath mean? To what extent is this position true?

Can someone please answer this question for me? More speciifically the part where it says "depends on it for a dash of colour and the flash of dance", I don''t understand this.
