Kary Mullis established the technique of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in the year of 1983. He won a Nobel Prize for the procedure in the year1993 as it became quite clear PCR had revolutionized the worlds of genetics and biochemistry. PCR enables researchers to amplify extremely little samples of DNA, even one molecule, within virtually unlimited quantities. PCR is now a general laboratory procedure, and since of its broad range of applications, it is rapidly attainment the nonscientific community as well.
