The International Court of Justice
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued a legal opinion on the legality of nuclear weapons, which says that the threat or use of force by means of nuclear weapons may be legal in extreme circumstances of self-defence. Though, it would generally be contrary to the rules of international law applicable in armed conflict, and in particular the principles and rules of humanitarian law.
