Technique of Operation :  TEE probe is passed in all cases soon after anaesthesia. The initial steps and exposure of mitral valve are done as for open mitral valvotomy. Using saline distension and by gentle pull with blunt hooks (crochet hooks) the valve mobility, prolapse, ruptured and elongated chordae are studied for each sector of the leaflets.
