Surgical Considerations in anterior mandibular region
During the harvesting of a monocortical symphyseal block of bone from the mandibular symphysis region (autogenous block bone graft), incisive branch of the inferior alveolar artery is often severed as it continues medially and anastomose with the artery of the opposite side if proper care is not taken.
