SUBMERGED ARC WELDING-Set Up

Submerged arc welding system consists of the following basic modules:

1. Welding head
2. Power source
3. Flux feeding and recovery units

Schematic diagram of submerged arc welding is shown in Fig., arc cavity, weld metal and molten slag locations are illustrated in a cross section of SAW process. General arrangement of submerged arc welding is given in Fig.  Continuous wire feeding, flux delivery and power source connections are shown in this diagram.
