The distance at any time because of any value of pulse meeting concurrently at a position in a medium is the vector addition of the individual distances due every one of the ray at that point at the same time.
When two waves of similar amplitude on a string approach each other, then on collision, they superimpose to give a resultant pulse of zero amplitude. After crossing, the two waves travel separately as given in as if nothing had happened.
Some Important applications of superposition rule :
(a) Interference of waves
(b) Stationary waves
(c) Beats
A monochromatic beam of unpolarised light is incident on a glass slab. The reflected ray is found to be purely plane polarized. Evaluate the angle between the reflected and the ref
Net force acting on particle of mass 2 kg is 10N in north direction. At t=o, particle was moving eastwards with 10m/s. Find displacement and velocity of particle after 2 seconds.
An open platform elevator is moving down a mine shaft. After the elevator has travelled 25m [from the top of the shaft]a stone is dropped from the top of the shaft .Find time taken
A sled and its rider are perched at the top o a hill that is 35 m tall. If the gravitational potential energy is 3.0 x 10 4 J. What is the weight of the sled and rider?
Q Define: mobility. Give its unit. The mobility is defined as the drift velocity obtains per unit electric field. The unit of a mobility m 2 V 1s 1.
A circular hole of radius r at the bottom of an initially full water container is sealed by a ball of mass m and radius R (>r). The depth of the water is now slowly decr
Is it possible to see your whole body in a flat, planar mirror that is LESS THAN half your height if the mirror is at an angle? (i.e. not parallel to your body)
Photons and gravity : It is observed that light is affected by gravity. We can recognize the gravitational behaviour of light from the fact that although a photon has zero rest mas
Motion of an object in a plane is called two dimensional (2-D) motions. For 2-D motion acceleration or velocity can be explained by two elements in any two mutually perpendicular d
