This is another tool of requirement analysis that reduces complexity of DFD. A data dictionary is a catalog of all components of a system. DFD represents flow of data while data dictionary gives details of that information such as attribute, type of attribute, names of related dataitems, size items, data structure definitions, range of values etc. Name specifies the name of attribute whose value is collected.
