Q. Show block Diagram of sequential circuits?
A sequential circuit is an interconnection of storage elements and combinational circuits. The storage elements known as flip-flops store binary information which denotes state of sequential circuit at that time. Block diagram of a sequential circuit is displayed in figure below. As displayed in figure present output relies on past Input states.
Figure: Block Diagram of sequential circuits.
These sequential circuits not like combinational circuits are time dependent. The sequential circuits are generally categorized relying upon the time at which these are observed and their internal state alters. Two broad categorizations of sequential circuits are:
Synchronous circuits employ flip-flops and their status can alter only at discrete intervals. Asynchronous sequential circuits can be considered as combinational circuit with feedback path. Because propagation delays of output to input are small so they may be likely to become unstable at times so complex asynchronous circuits are tough to design.
