Setting and installations of insulation, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Q. Setting and installations of insulation?

The setting and installations of insulation shall be to Specification No. later.

The steam drum surfaces shall be insulated with minimum 50.8 mm (2") blanket insulation.

All surfaces exposed to the element of weather shall be insulated minimum 50.8 mm (2"). Block insulation shall be covered with weather proof cement and external galvanized casing.

Refractory lining shall be installed as per Specification No. later.

Inlet channels, outlet channels and tubesheets shall be refractory lined with a duo layer, or monolithic layer of refractory of a minimum 100 mm (4") hot face and minimum 75 mm (3") back-up, if required. The hot-face layer shall consist of a minimum 80% (WT) alumina.

Appropriate materials shall be supplied, subject to a approval by WorleyParsons Canada.

Anchors of TP 316 SS, 6 mm (1/4") thick, shall be spaced on a maximum 175 mm (6 7/8") square pattern, or a 1.75 times the hot-face liner thickness, whichever is more limiting.

Perforated metal shrouding shall be installed on the outside of the WHB channel section which are refractory lined. Refractory lined inlet and outlet connections require shrouding.

Shrouding shall be designed to maintain minimum metal temperature of 177oC (350oF) to prevent condensation and the formation of sulfuric acid between the refractory and the shell.
