A TDMS project plan is not a typical Information Technology project plan; therefore, a traffic data project has several unique characteristics:
The project will be developed in Oracle in all aspects. The Oracle 10g Database's Enterprise Edition will be used for the server. For development of ETL, and metadata repository Oracle 10g Warehouse Builder will be used. Report builder or discoverer will be used to create the reports that will be available using any web browser. The system will also be responsible for the data to clean on a regular basis. The operational data will be held in transaction-based systems with some function like equipment basic data, management and staff current data. Audit trial will also be managed.
When tables are created there will be some advanced indexing techniques will be used which will improve the data retrieval and overall performance of the system. Some views are to be created for the purpose of the enhancing the performance of the data.
