Scope of traffic data management, Database Management System

Assignment Help:

A TDMS project plan is not a typical Information Technology project plan; therefore, a traffic data project has several unique characteristics:

  • Traffic data management systems project's objectives are by and large defined in general statements. It is significant that the requirements for the traffic data developments are not be very explicit. If they are very definite, they may affect the way the traffic data project is designed, to the point of "not including" factors that seems unrelated but may be key to the analysis being carried out.
  • One of the major reasons for describing the scope of the project is to avoid invariable change throughout the life cycle as new requisites occur.
  • The key purpose of the TDMS project is for data analysis but not to muddle up operational objectives with the traffic data project's informational objectives.

The project will be developed in Oracle in all aspects. The Oracle 10g Database's Enterprise Edition will be used for the server. For development of ETL, and metadata repository Oracle 10g Warehouse Builder will be used. Report builder or discoverer will be used to create the reports that will be available using any web browser. The system will also be responsible for the data to clean on a regular basis. The operational data will be held in transaction-based systems with some function like equipment basic data, management and staff current data. Audit trial will also be managed.

When tables are created there will be some advanced indexing techniques will be used which will improve the data retrieval and overall performance of the system. Some views are to be created for the purpose of the enhancing the performance of the data.
