Q. Scope of pipeline systems?

This specification covers the specific materials, surface preparation, method of application, quality assurance, and repair necessary for the application of a four part fusion bond epoxy coating of bare steel pipe, for buried service in pipeline systems.

The Applicator shall supply all materials including epoxy powder, coating repair material, all equipment and labour necessary for handling and coating the line pipe, holiday detectors, Tempil Stiks/Pyrometers, and all tools necessary for completing the work in accordance with this specification.

Pipe coated under this specification shall have a design life of thirty years and a maximum operating temperature of 90°C. The coating shall be resistant to ultraviolet light degradation for a period of not less than two years. The coating shall also be resistant to physical damage during transportation and construction, soil stress, moisture absorption, and cathodic disbondment.
