Importance of Road Maintenance

Roads deteriorate in their condition due to traffic, rain, snowfall and temperature variations. They requirement to be maintained so that :

  • the riding quality is good
  • the surface is skid-resistant
  • the vehicles can travel at good speed
  • the cost of operation of vehicles (fuel consumption, wear and tear of vehicles, etc.) is kept low.
  • accidents are minimised
