Assignment Help:

Define Renal Function & cardiovascular - change related with ageing?

Changes associated with the cardiovascular and renal function: The progressive accumulation of athermanous plaques leads to narrowing of the lumen of blood vessels and loss of elasticity. There is a decline in the cardiac output, an increased resistance to the flow of blood and resultant reduced capacity to respond to extra work. As the rate of blood flow is reduced, the digestion, absorption and distribution of nutrients is retarded.A reduced blood flow and smaller number of functioning nephrons lessens the glomeruIar filtration and tubular reabsorption so that the excretion of wastes and the return of nutrients to the circulation is less efficient.
