The sponsor of a project shows the management of the organisation which commissioned this. Therefore, she or he is THE customer for the project manager and this is significant that they have a good, effective and frank working relationship. The project manager and sponsor must agree among themselves an appropriate timescale and framework for reporting although, typically, this would involve a regular written report supplemented by a meeting where matters can be discussed personally. The frequency of reporting will clearly depend upon the overall size and timescale of the project; particular along with a total throughout of a month or therefore will probably need weekly reports nevertheless, for a project spanning quite a few months, a monthly reporting cycle may be adequate.
