oxo process - Hydrocabon

It is as well known as carbonylation or hydroformylation reaction. A group of alkene carbon monoxides and hydrogen. Elevated temperature and under pressure in the existence of catalyst forms aldehyde.

Catalyst is cobalt carbonyl hydride product is a mixture of isomeric straight chain (major) and branched chain (minor) aldehydes. Aldehydes are inferred catalytically to the corresponding alcohols.
