Objectives of Viewing transformation

After going through this section, you should be capable to:

- Explain the projection;

- Classify different types of Perspective and Parallel projections;

- Expand the common transformation matrix for parallel projection;

- Explain and develop the transformation for Orthographic and oblique parallel projections;

- Expand the transformations for multi-view as front, right, top, rear, left and bottom view in the projections;

- Identify the foreshortening factor and categorize the oblique projection on the basis of foreshortening factors;

- Derive the transformations for common perspective projection;

- Illustrate and derive the projection matrix for single-point, two-point and three- point perspective transformations, and

- Illustrate the vanishing points.
