Non-Horizontally Launched Projectiles

Assume a cannonball being launched at an angle from cannon atop an extremely high cliff. Suppose as well in which the cannonball does not encounter an important amount of air resistance. What would be the path of the cannonball and how could the motion of the cannonball be elaborates? The animation below depicts such a situation. The path of the cannonball is displays; additionally, the horizontal and vertical velocity elements are represented through arrows within the animation.
