Manual Engineering Drawing: The physical object is to be drawn (Do not take photographs of the object or use it as a template that you trace with) in class as an isometric drawing and a dimensioned orthographic drawing. The drawings carried out in the class will be signed and the physical object collected from the student at the end of the session. The in-class attempt is to be employed to create a final submission version. Note the steps in creating the final version are to be captured (digitally) and uploaded as part of the submission. Border lines, title box, projection symbol, surface finish, tolerances, materials used etc. are to be included in the drawing. It is best to use an A3 size paper for the drawing. The marks for the project will be allocated according to the following criteria: (1) Isometric drawing (2) Orthographic projection drawing (3) Dimensioning and other annotations (4) Quality of drawings

The related 2D views (e.g. front, top, end views ...) of the object are to be drawn as 2D CAD objects in AutoCAD 2013. Details such as centre lines, dimensions and notes are to be included. An appropriate template file containing all aspects of settings required (line type, line weight in layers etc, border line, title block ... in layout view) is to be created and employed to ensure the drawing is in the right format. The drawing is to be saved as a*.dwg file and plotted (printed) as a pdf file.
