Ignition System: The ignition system is a source and a means of initial spark required to start burning of fuel. A very high voltage supplied at the spark plug tip causes this spark. It consists of magneto, CDI unit, ignition coil and spark plug. Following are the points of necessity of ignition system :

  • Means to provide spark for the running of engine.
  • To minimize the arcing between points.
