MANDATORY CHECKS DURING THE FIRST SIX SERVICES

Various steps in servicing of motorcycle are given below in a tabular form.

2.3.1 First Service and Second Service First Service

Inspect spark plug gap, adjust valve clearance

Replace engine oil

Inspect, clean and adjust the spark plug gap

Check battery, specific gravity and level of the electrolyte and if necessary top up with distilled water

14.

Replace engine oil, top up/replace as required

15.

Clean engine oil filter screen and rotor filter

16.

Inspect engine idle speed and adjust if necessary

17.

Adjust brakes. Inspect for shoe wear/disk pad wear

18.

Check battery, specific gravity and level of the electrolyte and if necessary top up with distilled water

19.

Check brake light switch function

20.

Inspect and lubricate brake system (brake cam and brake pedal).
