Maintenance of Gravel Roads:

The maintenance consists of :

filling up of potholes/depressions with fresh gravel and compacting after light sprinkling with water.
grading with a motor grader or blade grader towed by an agricultural tractor to restore camber.
dragging to eliminate corrugations.
regravelling at periodic intervals (2-5 years) to make up loss of gravel. The thickness of regravelling can be in the range of 25-75 mm.
