Maintain nutrition
Your responsibility as a nurse is to take care of nutrition and prevent the child from starvation. Breast feeding'should be continued during the diarrhoea even if the child is on oral rehydration therapy. In case of non-breast fed infants, expressed breast milk and animal milk should be administered along with oral rehydration solution till diarrhoea stops. Foods such as fruit juice, mashed bananas, cocount milk, weak tea, kanji, rice water and semisolid foods should be given to children.
